The Women for Women International (WfWI)-funded initiative, known as Community Peace Mediators (CPMs), continues to achieve significant success in resolving community conflicts through dialogue in selected communities of Bauchi State.
In the Miri community of the Bauchi Local Government Area and Kafin Madaki in Ganjuwa LGA, the CPMs have demonstrated unwavering commitment to promoting peace and resolving conflicts within their communities. Both groups held their January feedback and interaction meetings to review their impactful work over the past month.
According to a press statement by Sule Joseph, the communication officer of the initiative in Bauchi, the mediators in the Miri community reported resolving nine cases, with one case still under review. Similarly, in Kafin Madaki, the mediators celebrated the resolution of 13 cases during the same period.
The statement further highlighted the CPMs’ dedication to fostering harmony and effectively addressing disputes. Sule Joseph commended the peace builders, stating, “Their efforts have significantly contributed to fostering a peaceful and cohesive community.”
