The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has visited the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital to celebrate and support the first babies born in the state in 2026.

During the visit, the First Lady said the gesture was to celebrate the newborns, pray for their good health, and encourage mothers on proper childcare and personal wellbeing. She advised women to take good care of themselves and their children, stressing the importance of hygiene, nutritious feeding, and a clean environment for healthy living and safe delivery.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed also urged pregnant women to prioritize good nutrition, noting that it is vital to the wellbeing of both mother and child.
In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Abdulkareem Mairiga, commended the First Lady for her consistent support for women, children, and the less privileged, describing her frequent visits as a reflection of compassion and commitment.

The mothers of the first three babies of the year—Rabi Salihu, Zainab Yakubu, and Rukaiya Ibrahim—expressed appreciation for the visit and support, offering prayers for continued guidance and rewards.

The First Lady also toured key hospital units, including the maternity and paediatric wards, where she donated diapers, baby food, clothing, and cash to the mothers and their newborns.
