Bauchi State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hon. Hajara Yakubu Wanka, has extended her warm greetings and felicitations to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and the people of Bauchi State on the occasion of Eid al-Adha celebrations.

In a Sallah message on her Facebook page, Commissioner Wanka called on the people of Bauchi State to continue praying for and supporting Governor Mohammed’s administration, citing its commitment to peace, economic development, and prosperity.

She specifically commended the Governor’s initiative to distribute sacrificial animals to families across the state, describing it as a gesture of love and compassion that reflects his administration’s dedication to ensuring the blessings of the sacred season reach all corners of the state.

“This gesture of love and compassion by His Excellency is a true reflection of the spirit of Eid, and we are honoured to have seen it through to completion. We appreciate the cooperation of community leaders and volunteers that had made the outreach exercise a success”, Wanka pened.

While reflecting on the spirit of Eid al-Adha, Commissioner Wanka described Nigerians and Bauchi people in particular as “resilient people” that are defying all odds to live happily with one another.

Wanka said that the sacred celebration is not just a time of sacrifice, it is a call to deepen compassion, unity, and service to one another, especially in the challenging times facing our communities and nation.

“In a period where many are burdened by economic hardship and uncertainty, let us remember that the essence of Eid lays in sharing, supporting the vulnerable, and uplifting the weary.

“As a servant of the people under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed, I remain committed to championing initiatives that bring relief, restore hope, and strengthen the social fabric of our state.

“May this Eid al-Adha bring peace to our land, blessings to every home, and renew our collective faith in a better, more compassionate Bauchi and Nigeria. May the rainy season give rise to bumper harvest and mitigate natural and man-made disasters that come during such periods. Together, let us build a future rooted in mercy, justice, and love. Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones”, the Commissioner authored.
