A Bauchi-based civil society organisation, Journalists for Public Health and Development Initiative (J4PD), has joined the global community in celebrating women for their strength, resilience and achievements as the world marks International Women’s Day 2026, with the theme “Rights, Justice, Action for All Women and Girls.”
In a statement issued to commemorate the day, the organisation extended warm greetings to women across Bauchi State and beyond, acknowledging their vital roles in shaping families, communities and the future of the nation through their dedication and hard work.
The statement, signed by the Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC) Advisor, Bashir Hassan Abubakar, on behalf of the Executive Director, Elizabeth Kah, commended the courage and determination of women who continue to overcome barriers while making meaningful contributions in leadership, education, caregiving and innovation.
J4PD also stressed the need to empower women through improved access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities.
The organisation called on governments at national and sub-national levels to sustain policies and programmes that enable women to thrive, while encouraging women to keep supporting one another and working collectively toward a society built on equity, justice and gender equality.
