United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has partnered a Bauchi based Civil Society Organisation, Journalists for Public Health and Development Initiative (J4PD) to give visibility to the activities of the UNFPA in Bauchi State.
This partnership was sealed on Tuesday 13th August, 2024 at a meeting between UNFPA Bauchi State office and J4PD, held at the Bauchi State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination.
Under the partnership, J4PD would be showcasing UNFPA’s activities in Bauchi State through it reportage using both print, electrictonic and online channels.
J4PD would also leverage on existence of the State official website and its own website https://j4pd.org/ by sharing it’s editorial contents in relation to UNFPA’s activities with the Bauchi State MDAs.
The Executive Director (ED) of J4PD, Elizabeth Kah said that the Bauchi CSO, aside reporting activities of UNFPA and uploading it on the State official website and J4PD’s https://j4pd.org/, it would also develop radio programs to create awareness and educate citizens of the State in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, sexual and gender based violence, early/forced girl child marriages, family planning and other population related issues in the State.
Kah also said that J4PD would be working with the State Bureau for ICT that manages the State website, to have editorial contents reports on UNFPA programs and activities hosted on the website.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Director of J4PD, UNFPA’s Gender/Reproductive Health Analyst Deborah Tabara, Deputy Director, Donor Coordination of the State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination Mohammed Usman, Director of Information and representatives of the ICT bureau.
It could recalled that few months ago, officials of J4PD had paid a courtesy call to the State office of the UNFPA. The purpose of that visit was to explore areas of collaboration with the world body
